MAYFAIR | LONDON

This is a kitchen we recently completed in Mayfair. The brief was to achieve a traditionally-styled kitchen which would complement stainless steel appliances to create a timeless design. The tall wall cabinets really show off the height of the room and the addition of the library ladder is not only practical, it accentuates height while adding a lovely architectural detail. The metal rails mirror the Perrin and Rowe English Bronze taps, which carries through to the door furniture in other areas of the room.

The preparation table was a must have for the client. The space flows through the table and you really get to appreciate the larch floor running through the kitchen. The colour adds interest and the table is a stand-out piece, beautifully set against the backdrop of the subtle tones of the main cabinet runs and the appliances. We have a lovely oak worktop on the table and there is a contrast between the wood and bianca eclipsia quartzite. This particular stone has a satinato finish giving a worn leather feel which is addictive to touch.

Inside the units we selected solid maple drawer boxes and dividers. This is a beautifully light and natural detail of the kitchen. The deep rust colour inside the larder reflects the prep table and really makes the maple sing against the dark backdrop. The natural wicker baskets were specially commissioned for this project.

Other details include the hand-turned cabinet knobs and plate dividers; a traditional cornice and a soft paint effect on the walls. All of these elements come together to complete what the client regards to be a beautifully-crafted kitchen and living space.

Particular attention is paid to the lighting in the room. We designed a configuration of eight lighting circuits which are programmed to have different scene settings at the touch of a button. Ideal for a dinner party, a relaxed reading space, or for everyday tasks.

This kitchen was a pleasure to work on and the ultimate satisfaction comes from providing a space that the client will continue to enjoy for many years to come.
